you get to decide if 60 is the beginning of the end.

I made that decision for myself just after turning 60. I was tired, out of shape, and no longer felt like the person I knew I could be. So I stopped waiting to feel motivated and started rebuilding — one workout at a time, one meal at a time, one walk at a time.

CONSISTENCY CHANGED EVERYTHING

I didn’t transform my life with a perfect plan. I did it by keeping promises to myself.

I started showing up at the gym six days a week. I cleaned up the way I ate. I stopped drinking alcohol. And I committed to at least 12,000 steps every single day — rain or shine.

Some mornings I was motivated. Plenty of mornings I wasn’t. I showed up anyway.

Over time, those ordinary decisions added up to an extraordinary change. I lost 40 pounds, rebuilt my strength, regained my confidence, and became stronger, leaner, and more disciplined than I’d been in years.

That experience taught me something I wish more people over 50 believed: your age doesn’t decide what happens next. Your consistency does.
